Getting Married in Rome

Choose to get married in Rome, one of the most enchanting marriage locations in Italy.

Choose to have a religious ceremony in one of the most famous churches in Italy, a religious and/or civil wedding on a garden terrace overlooking the city or in an historical villa in the hills of Rome or a civil wedding in the ancient Terme or baths of Caracalla, the choices are endless.

There are quite a few requirements for getting married in Italy, you will need to contact a local priest to help you plan your wedding and complete a pre-nuptial enquiry form for you. You will need to provide a recent copy of your baptismal certificate and documentary proof of your freedom to marry. However the requirements may differ slightly from place to place so it is best to check out the specific requirement with the Church in Rome where you have arranged to get married.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Tie the Knot in Italy

Tom and Katie recently exchanged their vows at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano, Italy. Guests waited inside a converted 15th-century armory in Italy's majestic Odescalchi Castle for the bride to walk down the aisle. Katie wore a beautiful off-the-shoulder gown created by top designer Giorgio Armani whilst Tom was dressed in a navy two-button Armani tux. Among the many attending was the couple's 7-month-old daughter Suri, dressed in an Armani frock to match her mum's and was carried down the aisle by her older brother Connor.

The former fortress's main Hall of the Caesars was adorned with thousands of red and white roses to match the red and gold tablecloths at the dinner reception. After the ceremony, guests gathered in the castle's grand Hall of the Caesars, where the celebrations began with toasts from the best man and matron of honor. The five-tiered white chocolate cake, decorated with marzipan roses and studded with white chocolate chips was later cut by the newlyweds.
